I don't even bother to remark on this issue anymore because I don't see a solution. As long as we have the cult of ancestor worship of the "founding fathers" and are a "christian" nation this problem is not going away. If slavery was wrong, what can you say about Washington? And as you know, Jesus never said that slavery was wrong in the first place. So that is a lot of cultural and historical baggage that needs to be dumped before this country will ever have an accurate history.
